Course Information

Intended learning outcomes

The participants

  • deepen their skills and proficiency in the research and study of scientific and technical literature

  • learn to get an overview of a given topic, to structure and to summarize it as well as to extract the essentials
  •  learn to distinguish between scientifically and technically sound works and less reliable or meaningful publications by critically studying literature
  • improve their presentation skills
  • expand their knowledge in selected areas of semantic systems and related research areas

Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools

seminar-like: presentations, discussions

Course content

ontology-based data access, non-monotonic reasoning, hybrid knowledge bases, declarative languages, computational complexity

Prior knowledge expected

Basic knowledge in logic, databases, knwledge representation would be beneficial, but not strictly needed.

Examination information

Im Fall von online durchgeführten Prüfungen sind die Standards zu beachten, die die technischen Geräte der Studierenden erfüllen müssen, um an diesen Prüfungen teilnehmen zu können.
