Examination methodology

The exam consists in each student preparing an essay on a topic chosen with the lecturer.

Examination topic(s)

The topic of the essay is free. It should focus on a case study of international economics, interpreting the empirical facts in light of the course material. For example, one could focus on the evolution of the economic/political relation between a pair of countries in a certain time period and analyze the interdependence with internal politics and the distribution of well-being between and within these countries.

Assessment criteria / Standards of assessment for examinations

The essay should have length of about five pages (including pictures, bibliography, etc.) and is to be summarized in class in a presentation of about 10 minutes to be discussed with other students and the lecturer.
