Intended learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to provide informatics students with a simple and precise method of articulating their everyday computer skills to the level of an English speaking public that has basic computer knowledge and use.

Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools

Transforming computer knowledge and issues into simple everyday English. This will include both written and oral forms of communication.

Course content

Content will be based on the area that students are learning in the computer course. This will be applied in English for computing.

Further discussion and interaction will be based on recent issue in computing and its relevance to the general public using computers for personal and public use.

Prior knowledge expected

A B1+ to B2 level od English is required, to "Conversation fluency in English is necessary in order to successfully participate in this course."

Literature

Articles from various periodicals, newspapers pertaining to the issue of compters and use of English . Issues about technology will also be discussed.
