Intended learning outcomes

Presentation skills, communicative writing for business especially e-mails telephoning - info exchange, sales calls, calls to deal with problems, social English - small talk, general and personal topics, conversation, presenting numbers in English. Using the internet as a resource, readings from business press, grammar review, vocabulary building.

Able to hold a short, effective, well-structured business presentation
Able to write a range of short text types (e-mails, proposal, presenting numbers) to handle everyday business situations
Able to make a clear and convincing business call in English to realise a communicative aim
Able to write, present and handle simple discussion of numbers and sums of money in English
Unassessed conversation practice (social English)
Practice in reading the business press

Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools

Discussions in groups and as a class, speaking and writing tasks as well as presentations.

Literature

Course reader, customised materials, articles from business press, Cambridge Business English.
