Attendance: only 2 absences permitted, punctuality required.

Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools

weekly audio clips, weekly use of Moodle, regular self-recording, intensive practice, IPA usage, listening journal, partner and group exercises, weekly self-monitoring; progression from controlled practice to natural contexts

Course content

American Pronunciation: speech profile analysis and setting personal goals for clear communication.Consonant and vowel sounds, syllables, word stress, sentence stress, reduction, focus words, thought groups, rhythm.

Literature

We will use 'Well Said' by Linda Grant (THIRD EDITION). The Kärntner Buchhandlung bookstore (near Heiligengeistplatz) has the book in stock. The book and 4 CD set costs €39,95.
