Studierende sollen in der Lage sein,die rechtliche Relevanz von medienrelevanten Vorgängen einzuschätzen; sie sollen einfachere rechtliche Probleme selbst lösen können.

- Verfassungsrechtliche Rahmenbedingungen: Meinungsfreiheit, Informationsfreiheit, Schutz der Privatsphäre
- Medienordnungsrecht, Medienförderungsrecht
- Schranken der Meinungsfreiheit (Persönlichkeitsschutz, Urheberrecht)
- Grundbegriffe des Rundfunkrechts

Students shall be able to assess, which legal problems in different situations can occur. They shall also be able either to solve legal problems themselves or to estimate that the consultation of legal experts is necessary.

- Constitutional Framework (freedom of expression, freedom of media, right to privacy)
- Regulatory Law (Imprint, Disclosure, media subsidies)
- limits of the freedom to hold opinions (personal rights, copyright law)
- main features of broadcasting law

Examination methodology
Es sind drei Teilleistungen zu erbringen:
Case study (schriftlich mit Feedback über moodle)
Präsentation einer einschlägigen Entscheidung eines Höchstgerichtes
schriftliche Klausur am Ende der LV mit offenen, zum Teil fallorientierten Fragen

Assessment criteria / Standards of assessment for examinations
alle Teilleistungen müssen positiv absolviert werden,
die Klausur wird positiv bewertet, wenn mindestens 50% der Gesamtpunktezahl erreicht werden.
Examination methodology
Students have to complete three assignments:
1) case study with feeback on moodle
2) presentation of a decision of the European Court of Human Rights or the European Court of Justice
3) written examination with open questions
