Intendierte Lernergebnisse

At the end of this course students will have acquired a broad understanding of the topics listed above. This will serve as preparation for other courses, their practical teacher training, and ultimately their careers as English teachers.

- presentations - self-study - pair/small group work - class discussions

Inhalt/e

Students are introduced to theoretical and practical issues in EFL teaching. Research findings from second language acquisition and their implications for foreign language teaching are compared with the students’ own language learning experience. A brief introduction to approaches to foreign language teaching will be presented. Furthermore, attention will be drawn to ways of teaching grammar, vocabulary, and the four skills within a foreign language pedagogy with a communicative orientation.

The course starts on 7 March, 2016.
