Topics

Building on the content of Writing 1, we look at various aspects of writing an academic essay in English:
- planning, writing and editing
- thesis statement, body paragraphs and conclusion
- appropriate style and language
In addition, we will be practicing the skill of summarising academic texts

Teaching objective

On completing the course, you should be familiar with - writing essays - essay structure, esp. thesis statement, supporting paragraphs, and conclusion - written academic style - (avoiding) plagiarism - Being able to summarise academic texts
