Course content

Objective: The aim of the course is to equip students with skills and knowledge to: Identify and calculate different types of costs (direct, indirect, variable, and fixed costs, product costs and period costs). Distinguish between job-costing, process-costing, and ABC method. Know more about modern cost management methods – Target Costing, Life-cycle costing, Quality costing. Prereading material: Prereading material 1.Cost classification – read the chapter and answer the questions at the end of the chapter plus solve the excersises at the end of the chapter. Please, bring solutions on the class. We will correct them and it will be a part of your final grade. Prereading material 2. Proces and activity based costing – read the chapter and solve case study 1 and case study 2. Please, bring solutions on the class. We will correct them and it will be a part of your final grade.

Prior knowledge expected

Basic knowledge of financial accounting is required.
