LV-Beschreibung

Lehrmethodik inkl. Einsatz von eLearning-Tools

Lectures, presentations by students, discussions, reflection questions on readings, and, most importantly, individual activity on a selected topic in the area of entrepreneurship (writing of a bachelor thesis).

Aufnahmebedingungen

(a) This course is designed for bachelor students who will write their bachelor thesis or a seminar paper (e.g. Erasmus students). Language of the seminar (lectures, in-class discussions and presentations) will be English. Yet, the bachelor thesis can be written either in German or in English. (b) It is not a usual course in terms of lecturing and short presentations. We have these activities in the course, but it is primarily a research course, which should help students to complete their bachelor thesis. The course requires a high individual effort. So, if you do not want to write a bachelor thesis (but merely a seminar paper), this course is recommended to you only if you want both to deepen knowledge of the chosen topic of entrepreneurship and to advance your research expertise (among them, writing skills) and the ability of critical analysis.

Inhalt/e

The bachelor seminar will address research methods, enabling close reading and comprehension of original material, and selected theories in the entrepreneurship research, enabling an in-depth examination of the chosen topic of the thesis. Specifically, the core topic of the seminar will be Social and Sustainable Entrepreneurship.

Schlagworte

social and sustainable entrepreneurship, scientific skills, and research methods

Lehrziel

The main aim of the seminar is to prepare you to write a bachelor thesis successfully. Entrepreneurship research has essentially an interdisciplinary character. The multitude of standpoints will enable you to gain a broad understanding of entrepreneurial behaviour. In your work, you will be encouraged to critically discuss entrepreneurship theories, to question the limitations of entrepreneurship research and suggest your own solutions as well as to prove learned perspectives in different contexts. You will be also encouraged to apply learned theories to real entrepreneurial world (by providing practical examples form your region or from available literature).

Erwartete Vorkenntnisse

This course is designed for students in the bachelor's program and should be selected as the final course. It is assumed that the contents of the literature addressed in the lectures of the Institute for Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship (VO Entrepreneurship, VO Corporate Entrepreneurship) are known.

Literatur

Journal papers, which will be presented and discussed by students in the classroom and then used in their thesis, can be reached via e-resources of the university library (the necessary training will be provided on 10th March by Ms. Zmuck). Recommended reading will be presented at the beginning of the course.
