The following performance criteria need to be met in order to successfully complete the courses classified as “Vorlesungs-Kurs” (VC):

  • Participation (a minimum of 80% during classes, in any case during the first session)
  • Partial performance (meeting the respective deadlines)
  • Submitting final assignments, homework, seminar papers, etc., within the communicated deadline (summer term 31.07. and winter term 28./29.02.)

In case any of the above-mentioned performance criteria are not met throughout the semester, the course will be evaluated negatively with immediate effect, and students need to retake the course.

The following rules apply to the above-mentioned performance criteria regarding the use of AI tools:

The use of announced AI tools is partially allowed for didactic reasons and explicitly required for certain sub-areas.
The relevant sub-areas will be announced in class and highlighted on the course slides.

The use of AI tools is explicitly prohibited for the following sub-areas:

  • Short exams
  • Critical appraisal (more details on this sub-area will be given in class)
  • Literature search (for parts explicitly announced in class and indicated on the slides)

For all other sub-areas, the following applies: Students must disclose the use of AI tools and label AI-generated passages accordingly (guidelines for citation and the responsible use of AI tools will be discussed in class and made available on Moodle).
To verify autonomy on performance criteria, that don’t allow the use of AI tools, students may be required to participate in a “follow-up discussion”.
Students are solely responsible for the work they submit.
