Intendierte Lernergebnisse
The main aim of this class is to enable students to make progress on the work on their final thesis. They will learn to improve their research, presentation and writing skills, while also practicing peer-to-peer feedback and scholarly discussion.
Lehrmethodik
Short lecture inputs, student presentations, group discussions, peer-to-peer and instructor feedback.
Inhalt/e
This course is aimed at students who are preparing for or are engaged in the process of writing their MA thesis. It provides a forum of discussion and the opportunity to present your special subject(s) and to receive detailed feedback from the instructor and your peers. The course is a testing ground for your ideas as well as for your knowledge of your subject and designed to address any questions concerning academic writing, presentations and potential plans for further research. We will also discuss and practice abstract writing, constructive feedback and writing techniques and strategies. The list of topics discussed depends on who will attend the seminar and will therefore be discussed in our first meeting.

- 250-word abstract of your thesis project
- a 20-minute presentationof the thesis project (state of the art)
- a 20-minute presentation of one chapter/aspect of your thesis
- active participation in class discussions and peer review (written an oral feedback on other student’s work)
