In diesem Kurs erhalten Studierende einen Überblick über grundlegende Fragestellungen der Sprachlehr- und –lernforschung und lernen zentrale Theorien und Methoden des Fremdsprachenunterrichts kennen. Insbesondere werden Ziele, Kompetenzen und Verfahren des kommunikativen Sprachunterrichts gemeinsam in Theorie und Praxis erarbeitet.

Intended learning outcomes

Students are introduced to theoretical and practical issues in foreign language teaching. Research findings from first and second language acquisition (SLA) and their implications for foreign language teaching are compared with students' own language learning experiences. A brief introduction will be given to some of the main approaches to foreign language teaching. Furthermore, attention will be drawn to ways of teaching pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary and the four skills in the context of a language learning pedagogy with a communicative orientation.
