This seminar is a blended learning seminar. Great parts of the required work to earn the 8 ECTS points is in-between-session work by the students individually and in groups.

Intendierte Lernergebnisse

Students will have to opportunity to learn / reflect about the writing process of an academic thesis and, more importantly, will have to opportunity to work on their theses, in which state these may be. They will present their state of the art in a first round, get feedback from peers and the instructor, and will present their advanced projects again at the end of the semester.

- general input on setting up a research project / thesis 

- student presentation of state of the art of theses

- feedback by a peer (tandem organization) and by instructor

Inhalt/e

students' own thesis project, tandem work / peer feedback and theoretical and methodological input at the beginning by instructor

Literatur

Relevant literature will be provided on Moodle; in addition, students are required to select, read and summarize two relevant articles / texts for their thesis project

Im Fall von online durchgeführten Prüfungen sind die Standards zu beachten, die die technischen Geräte der Studierenden erfüllen müssen, um an diesen Prüfungen teilnehmen zu können.

Prüfungsmethode/n

- oral presentation (first and second versions of thesis project)

- selecting and summarizing relevant literature

- exposé of thesis project

- students' own thesis project

- active participation in discussion on thesis projects due to reading of required literature 

- two oral presentations that meet the discussed criteria

- written exposé that meets the discussed criteria

- providing oral and written feedback on presentations of peer
