LV-Beschreibung

Intendierte Lernergebnisse

Critically engage with microtransaction mechanics in contemporary videogames. This includes aspects of game design, psychology, law, and ethics. Understand what forms of monetization are currently being used in the videogame industry and develop insight into why they are used in which context. Read theoretical texts and watch videos and presentations about microtransactions, but also play some videogames to see how these ideas are actually implemented. Present and discuss your findings together with others in the class. Finally, you will also design or implement a microtransaction mechanic yourself.
