Course Information

Intended learning outcomes

Students gather knowledge on:

- ethical theories, principles of media ethics and business ethics, basic CSR theories

Students are able to:

- apply general ethical viewpoints to specific media ethical issues

- reflect and discuss different ethical theories

- connect economic and ethical thinking when analyzing the media industry

- apply different views on CSR and stakeholder approaches to the management of media companies

Teaching methodology

- Lecture in class

- Discussion on current ethical issues

- Work groups in class

- Presentation of ideas for seminar paper

Course content

- Ethical theories in philosophy

- Introduction to media and business ethics

- CSR and stakeholder management

- Empirical results for management ethics
