Intendierte Lernergebnisse

Nach Absolvierung der Lehrveranstaltung verfügen die Studierenden über mathematische Grundkenntnisse, die zur Beschreibung ökonomischer Sachverhalte notwendig sind. Sie beherrschen wesentliche Elemente der mathematischen Sprache auf verschiedenen Kommunikationsebenen.

Intendierte Lernergebnisse

After completing this course,  students should have the basic mathematical knowledge that is required to describe and interpret economic models. They master essential elements of mathematical language and how to communicate mathematics on different levels.

Prüfungsinformationen

Im Fall von online durchgeführten Prüfungen sind die Standards zu beachten, die die technischen Geräte der Studierenden erfüllen müssen, um an diesen Prüfungen teilnehmen zu können.

Beurteilungskriterien/-maßstäbe

Es können insgesamt 16 Punkte erreicht werden.

  • 10 dieser Punkte können durch Lösen von Aufgaben ("Aufgabenpunkte"), 4 durch Präsentation von Lösungen ("Präsentationspunkte") und 2 durch Lösen der Projekte ("Projektpunkte") erworben werden.
  • Es müssen mindestens 6 Aufgabenpunkte erworben werden; in diesem Fall ergibt sich die Note aus der Gesamtsumme der Punkte wie folgt:
    >= 8 Punkte
    		Genügend (4)
    >= 10 Punkte
    		Befriedigend (3)
    >= 12 Punkte
    		Gut (2)
    >= 14 Punkte
    		Sehr gut (1)
  • Es werden 12 Übungseinheiten zu 60 Minuten abgehalten.
  • Die Übungsaufgaben werden etwa eine Woche vor der jeweiligen Übungseinheit via Moodle ausgegeben.
  • Aufgabenpunkte:
    • Bis 1 Stunde vor Übungsbeginn am Tag der Übungseinheit können Sie online angeben, welche Aufgaben Sie gelöst haben. Dadurch geben Sie sowohl Ihr gründliches Verständnis als auch Ihre Bereitschaft bekannt, jede der ausgewählten Aufgaben vorzuführen. Während der Übungseinheit wird einE StudierendeR zufällig für die Präsentation ausgewählt.
    • Für die Aufgabenpunkte zählen Ihre besten 10 Übungseinheiten. Für jede Einheit ist die Anzahl der erreichten Punkte gleich der Anzahl der von Ihnen gelösten Aufgaben dividiert durch die Anzahl der in der Einheit besprochenen Aufgaben. 
    • Im Fall von Regelverstößen (Auswahl von Aufgaben bei Abwsenheit oder ohne sie gelöst und verstanden zu haben) werden alle Aufgabenpunkte des Semesters mit 3/4 (in geometrischer Folge bei wiederholten Verstößen) multipliziert und/oder alle Punkte der entsprechenden Einheit gestrichen.
  • Präsentationspunkte:
    • Jede Präsentation ist bis zu 4 Punkte wert; das arithmetische Mittel dieser Präsentationen ergibt die Präsentationspunkte.
    • Punkte werden für Korrektheit, Klarheit, Prägnanz, Originalität etc. vergeben.
  • Projektpunkte:
    • Punkte werden für Korrektheit, Klarheit und gute Beschreibung etc. vergeben.

Eine Abmeldung ist bis 15. November möglich. Danach wird jedenfalls ein Zeugnis ausgestellt.

Beurteilungskriterien/-maßstäbe

16 points may be obtained in total.

10 of those points can be obtained by solving assignments ("Assignment points"), 4 by presenting solutions ("Presentation points"), and 2 through the maths in economics assignments ("Project points").

It is required to obtain at least 6 assignment points; in that case,  total points translate into grades as follows:

>= 8 Points Grade 4

>= 10 Points Grade 3

>= 12 Points Grade 2

>= 14 Points Grade 1

There are 12 sessions of 45 minutes each, i.e., there will be 12 assignment sheets. The assignments are handed out via Moodle a week before the session. 

Assignment points: 

Until 12:00 on the day of the exercise class, you may select online any problem that you have completed. You have then indicated both your thorough understanding and your willingness to present any problem you have selected. When we are ready to discuss a given problem during class, the presenting student will be selected randomly.

For the assignment points, your best 10 sessions are counted. For each session, the number of points you receive equals the number of solved problems (as indicated by your selections online) divided by the number of problems discussed in that session. For example, if on the online form you indicate that you have solved 5 problems, and there are 7 problems in total, you will get 5/7 points. 

In case of an honour code violation (e.g. saying that you have solved problems but not showing up for class to present solutions if chosen, selecting problems without having solved and understood them), all of your marks for the semester are multiplied by 3/4 (and will continue to be reduced in this way if you repeatedly violate the honour code) and/or all points of the corresponding session are deleted.

Presentation points:

Each presentation is worth 4 points; the average of these presentations yields the presentation points. You should present at least twice, or else you will be penalised (your average will assume that you have done two presentations).Points are awarded for correctness, clarity, brevity, originality, etc.

Project points:

Project points are obtained if the project presented is flawless and well documented.

Deregistration is possible until April 15th 2021. After this date, students get a grade regardless.
