Course Information

Intended learning outcomes

Completion of a master thesis. The master thesis is an academic paper that demonstrates the student’s ability to achieve adequate standards of content and methodology when independently addressing scholarly topics. The topic of the thesis paper should be chosen so that it is reasonable for a student to complete it within six months. The thesis must be written in English.

Teaching methodology

One-on-one exchanges with your thesis supervisor. If benefitial to the thesis paper, these exchanges may also take place in groups or a colloquium.


Course content

This course represents the shared efforts of a student made in the conception, composition, and writing of their master thesis paper, shared with their thesis supervisor.

Do only sign up for this course if you 

  • found a supervisor for your master thesis already and agreed on a suitable topic
  • are ready to begin your writing process and to finalise your paper within six months, as specified by the Game Studies and Engineering curriculum, section 13
