Anmerkungen

Dear students, I can be contacted at stephen.doheny@aau.at should there be any queries not addressed in the following information. Please make sure to read to the end of this post where distance learning issues are addressed..

The aim of this course is to provide students with an overview of various forms of prose, poetry and drama, as well as introducing students to the notion of text analysis. Students will become familiar with terminology and the historical development of English literature.

We shall also become dab hands using the tools to interpret and analyze texts. Students will also be given a forum in which to develop their presentation skills, as each student will present a 15min Powerpoint on relevant literary terms.

Please be aware that I may on occasion use the full 2hrs to accommodate technical issues, presentations and workshops...

Be it face to face or online, attendance at the first session (Wednesday 2nd March 6pm), is compulsory, as the basics of the course will be presented, and important administrational “stuff” can be discussed. Applicants may register online up until 23:59pm on the 1st of March.

I intend to hold this course face to face at the university room: N.0.27 on Wednesdays from 6 to 8pm. If, owing to CoVid, and we are forced to hold the course online..... I will adapt the course and hold it via TEAMS.

So...... in order to facilitate a quick change to online learning, please download the Teams App to your PCs, laptops, smartphones etc, and try to become familiar with the application if you are not already.
