The common usage of English terminology across the broader scientific community facilitates the dissemination of psychological research and findings through, for example, the publication of academic articles in peer-reviewed journals and the presentation of same at international conferences. As such, this course aims to provide students with an overview of some of the more commonly used English terms utilised throughout the field of Cognitive Psychology. The main focus of the class will be the analysis of decision making with some interactive games and example from behavioural economics i.e. gambles, wildly used heuristics and gain and losses biases.
While broadening their understanding of this approach, students will become familiar with reading and utilising English psychological terminology relevant to this area and will have the opportunity to consolidate this learning by completing written and oral assignments in English.
