Course Information

Intended learning outcomes

Students have a clear grasp of the phonology of standard varieties of English. They can describe segmental and suprasegmental features of utterances and can use the IPA both receptively and productively. In addition, they have an understanding of principles of pronunciation teaching.

In the case of compulsory distance classes, the exams will be conducted online.

Examination methodology

Participation in class (10%), presentation & assignments (30%), final exam (60%).

A passing grade on both the presentation and the final exam are required for an overall pass.
