Intended learning outcomes
Understand operations management issues arising both in private companies and in public authorities in an iternational context. The students should be able to identify decision problems arising in a business context and to propose smart solution to increase the productivity both in terms of profit and in terms of quality of service offered to the customers.

Course content
International Operations Management and Supply Chain Management are concerned with key activities of business. Operations management, inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and facility location - have been performed since the start of commercial activity. It is not possible to visualize any product that could reach a customer without operations and logistical support. Firms have started focusing on international operations and supply chain management as a source of competitive advantage. This becomes even more important in a competitive international context.
The key of the success for a company is the smart exploitation of available resources. This can be achieved by optimizing startegies and operations processes with the help of advanced decision support tools. Only this way can be competitive at an international level.

6. Scheduling problems (Industry and Health care management)
Prior knowledge expected
Students will be able to identify which are the main decision problems arising in a specific context, and to matematically describe them.
