Intended learning outcomes
Ziel der Lehrveranstaltung ist es, Einblicke sowohl in traditionelle (vor allem epistemologische und ontologische Fragestellung) als auch in neuere (vor allem soziologische und gesellschaftskritische) Fragestellungen der Philosophie der Mathematik zu erlangen.
Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools
In jeder (außer der ersten) Seminarsitzung wird ein von allen vorbereiterer (und zuweilen auch auf Englisch verfasster) Text in Kapitellänge im Plenum diskutiert. Zuweilen werden diese Diskussionen durch Kurzvorträge des Lehrveranstaltungsleiters ergänzt.

- Platonismus, Formalismus, Intuitionalismus
- (Zweite) Grundlagenkrise der Mathematik
- Gültigkeits- und Zuständigkeitsansprüche der Mathematik
- Soziologie der Mathematik
- Beiträge zum Mathematik-Treiben
- Gesellschaftskritische Perspektiven auf Mathematik

Assessment criteria / Standards of assessment for examinations
Die aktive Mitarbeit und die vorbereitete Reflexion zu Leseaufträgen sind Voraussetzungen für das Bestehen des Kurses und werden bewertet, wobei sich die Benotung zu 50% aus der Bewertung der Mitarbeit und zu 50% aus der Bewertung der vorbereiteten Reflexion ergibt. An die Stelle einer der beiden Prüfungsleistungen kann auf Verlangen des Prüflings eine höchstens fünfseitige Abhandlung zu einer vorab zu vereinbarenden mathematikphilosophischen Fragestellung rücken.
