Course Information
Intended learning outcomes
To get to know the physical geography of South Tyrol.
To understand the basics about the key topics and be able to proceed in the field: Agricultural and forest landscape water distribution; River hazards and riparian restoration; hydromorphology and river health.
Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools
Reading key literature in English and German.
Discussions in class guided by the lecturer.
Oral presentations with handouts in English and feedbacks given by the lecturer. The topic of the oral presentations need to be agreed with the lecturer.

This proseminar serves to prepare the excursion on terrestrial and aquatic ecohydrology in South Tyrol and is connected to the proseminar B 5.3.
Prior knowledge expected
Good level of English.

Examination methodology
Portfolio consists on: oral presentations (40%), active individual participation (10%), written test (50%).
Examination topic(s)
All the topics given in class are part of the test.
Assessment criteria / Standards of assessment for examinations
Oral presentations need to cover the whole spectrum of the topic in the agreed time.
Active individual participation during discussions and feedbacks.
Written test needs to be positive.
50% of the points needs to be achieved to pass the proseminar.
