Intendierte Lernergebnisse

After the course, the students should have a good overview of research especially regarding sustainable mobility. Furthermore, students should be able understand, evaluate and apply insights from papers in the course (e.g., aim and design of the study, methodology behind the survey and evaluation of the data using scientifically based tools). Furthermore, the students should be capable to discuss limitations and learnings in their presentation and following simulate debate with their fellow students.

In addition, the students develop their skills in the areas of project management, presentations (e.g. design and structure of content, presentation, etc.), documentation and evaluation (qualitative/quantitative research).

The documentation of the inputs will be given in form of presentation (group work) as well as written down in form of seminar paper (individual work). Both parts will be graded as a partial performance.

Inhalt/e

The course consists of three different sections:

Section “In Course Inputs”: The first part of the course provides an overview of survey research, which builds the base for further course. Beside this, in more detail insights will be presented (group work) and discussed in plenum. The students first acquire the necessary basic knowledge through relevant literature and further research, as well as through discussions in the course. Secondary data (e.g. annual reports, internet research, etc.) can be used as sources as well as best-practices in this field.

Section “Guest Lecture/s”: Besides inputs in the course, extern lecturers will be invited to join and give input from their perspective (stakeholders, researchers, government etc.). Furthermore, presented input will be discussed will be the starting point for further steps.

Section “Excursion/s”: Part of this course will be as well experiencing theory in practice. More details will be given in the course.
