For all candidates: Please note: The course is part of the master's degree programme "International Management" and can therefore only be attended by students registered for the particular Programme. Some places are also reserved for students of MCM. Since the course accompanies the students by the master thesis, it is NOT appropriate for Erasmus students. Thank you for your understanding.

For IM students: Please note: Research Seminar: IME - Part I (introduction to the master's thesis) is offered in the second semester; in turn, Research Seminar: IME - Part II (progress in the master's thesis) is to be taken in the fourth semester.

Course Information

Intended learning outcomes

After completing the seminar, students should achieve the following goals (abilities):

[G1] a better understanding of topics addressed in the field of IME

[G2] a better understanding of research methods in the field of IME 

[G3] knowledge of how to design and write a scientific paper (such as a master's thesis) and of how to make literature search

[G4] ability to write an exposé for the master thesis

Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools

Day 1: Presentation and discussion of selected papers from the field of IME for the purpose of familiarization with the discipline --> [G1] [G2]

Day 2: Training - "Introduction to scientific writing" for the purpose of conceptualizing and writing an exposé and (subsequently) a master thesis --> [G3] [G4]

Course content

Subject-related topics - Analysis of the selected research articles in the field of innovation management and entrepreneurship

Research methods in IME - Overview of scientific research methods in the discipline addressed 

Fundamentals of scientific writing - Introduction to scientific writing (e.g. structuring the paper, citation guidelines)

Literature

The literature used in the course will be available in Moodle.
