Course Information

Intended learning outcomes

The focus of the course lies on the acquisition of a basic understanding of business cases for digital technologies as well as fundamental strategic tools. Students learn about and apply the central aspects of management in context of digital technologies by means of real company examples.

Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools

Group work, individual work, cases, presentations, discussions, final paper (case study)

Course content

Digital technologies are theorized to fundamentally change how business is done. In this course, the students work on how contemporary technologies can be integrated in businesses to facilitate its value creation. In addition, students discuss and apply classic strategic tools on real life cases and discuss if these tools are applicable in a digital era.

Topics: entrepreneurial opportunities, business model canvas, 5 forces, PESTEL, AI, 3D printing, drones, blockchain

Im Fall von online durchgeführten Prüfungen sind die Standards zu beachten, die die technischen Geräte der Studierenden erfüllen müssen, um an diesen Prüfungen teilnehmen zu können.

Participation and involvment, individual and group work, presentation, discussion, final paper
