Course Information

Intended learning outcomes

-Gain confidence to express ideas fluently, accurately, and appropriately in spoken English

-Gain ability to comprehend and respond appropriately to spoken English


Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools

The contents of this class will be targeted to students with B1 proficiency (may vary depending on class ability). The course will aim to improve all aspects of students' language skills: speaking, writing, reading and listening.  Within the course the students will be presented  with various activities to help them learn the language in the best possible way. 


Course content

-individual work, pair work, group work

- grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening activities

- in class discussions

- presentation skills

-focus on conversation



Prior knowledge expected

Knowledge of the English language is a must. No beginners. 

Literature

For the course the students need: a notebook/ a computer (for writing) and all additional materials will be provide in classes (copying materials and materials from the Moodle platform). 

Examination information

Im Fall von online durchgeführten Prüfungen sind die Standards zu beachten, die die technischen Geräte der Studierenden erfüllen müssen, um an diesen Prüfungen teilnehmen zu können.

Examination methodology

The final grade will be based on the following:

-Final exam 70%

- active participation in class activities 30% 

Examination topic(s)

The final exam will cover the topics and activities done in the classes. 

The final exam will consist of a reading part, listening part, grammar part and a vocabulary part.
