LV-Beschreibung
Intendierte Lernergebnisse
Students will learn how to improve their thesis draft. They will also learn how to effectively present their MA thesis project as well as a 20-minute conference paper based on one of their thesis chapters. They will get practice in how to use a visual presentation in conjunction with a written text, how to read and write for an audience, and how to address critical questions. At the same time, they will learn how to ask productive questions in response to other student’s presentations of their MA thesis projects and how to help create lively and respectful scholarly discussions around their ongoing research.
Lehrmethodik inkl. Einsatz von eLearning-Tools
Short lecture inputs, student presentations, discussions, peer review.
Inhalt/e
In this course, students who are already well advanced in their MA studies will work on their thesis projects and present parts of it to the instructor and their peers. We will also review important writing-related issues such as the organization of thought, content, and source materials, and we will discuss and practice presentation techniques. Peer review will be an important element of the class, giving students the opportunity to help each other improve their ongoing MA thesis projects.
