LV-Beschreibung

Intendierte Lernergebnisse

Students will learn about translation theory and its history & relevant terminology relating to the field; be able to identify and analyze translation problems/errors (specifically between German and English); and be able to describe the translation process and the role of the translator.

Lehrmethodik inkl. Einsatz von eLearning-Tools

  • Lecture (occasional recorded lectures on PPT should in-person lectures not take place)
  • In-class group discussion
  • Moodle-based assignments/discussion
  • Sample practice translation tasks

This course will be conducted in-person. This means the class will take place in the room designated on the LV-Karte. 

Recordings or supplementary explanations will be made available as warranted. If need be, classes may take place online, which means you should have, at a minimum, a device with a stable internet connection, a microphone, and (should it be needed) a camera. These will facilitate any eLearning sessions that may be needed in this course.

Literatur

All required reading and viewing materials will be provided on Moodle. A reader of course texts will also be made available via the ÖH printing service (price of the reader TBA).
