Course Information
Intended learning outcomes
Students will develop, practice and refine their ability to:
- reflect on and adapt their own writing process
- critically read and analyse academic essays
- critically engage with their own and other students' texts
- plan and outline academic essays
- write coherent texts (from sentences to paragraphs and essays)
Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools
Self-study, Moodle assignments (flipped classrooms), group discussions, writing assignments (to be collected in a portfolio).
Course content

- academic writing process
- paragraph structure
- essay structure and outlines
- doing research
- thesis statements
- types of essays
- essay analysis
- using quotations appropriately
- norms and conventions of academic writing
Literature
Relevant literature and texts will be provided on Moodle.
