Course Information
Intended learning outcomes
Learning goal for this course include
- Understanding fundamentals of structural equation modeling (SEM), such as basic elements, model identification, estimation, and model fit
- Estimating SEMs including
- Confirmatory factor analysis
- Observed-variable and latent-variable path models
- Multi-group models
- Moderation and mediation models
- Correctly reporting results of those SEMs
Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools
Lectures, in-class discussion, individual and group-based exercises, assigned reading/viewing.
Course content
Fundamentals of SEM
Principles of factor analysis
Principles of observed-variable and latent-variable path models
More complex models, such as moderation (including multi-group models) and mediation models
