Course Information

Intended learning outcomes

Students acquire an in-depth knowledge about

-  current hot topics inormation systems engineering, this year interorganizational business processes and transaction, based  

-  selected basic techniques of distributed databases in particular replication, distributed transactions, p2p databases necessary to understand current developments in blockchain technology and distributed ledgers

- declarative process modelling

Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools

Classical lecture, practical assignments, student presentations.

Course content

The course will provide the essential fundamentals and cover current topics of the following areas:

  • Interorganizational Business Processes
  • Blockchain Technology for Collaborative Information Systems
  • BPM support for knowledge workers: Declarative Process Modeling & Case Handling
  • Distributed Transaction Processing
