Intended learning outcomes

Erarbeitung der vielschichtigen Ursachen, des Verlaufes, des Umgangs seitens der Politik und der Folgen  von Wirtschaftskrisen für die Gesellschaft 

Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools

Einführungsvortrag durch den LV-Leiter; Textlektüre, Diskussion. Seitens der LV-Teilnehmer ist ein Kurzreferat (nur mündlich) zu einem Teilaspekt aus dem Umfeld des LV-Themas sowie das Seminar-Hauptreferat (mündlich) zu einer Fragestellung des Seminar-Themas zu halten. Das Seminar-Hauptreferat bildet die Grundlage für die Seminar-Arbeit.

Course content

 Der inhaltliche Bogen des Seminars spannt sich vom Themenfeld "Wirtschaftstheorie und Wirtschaftskrisen" über die "Tulpenkrise" (1637), den englischen "Südseeschwindel" (1711-1720),  den österreichischen Staatsbankrott  des Jahres 1811, die britische Wirtschaftskrise nach dem Wiener Kongress bis zur ersten Weltwirtschaftskrisen des Jahres 1857 und der sog. "Gründerkrise" des Jahres 1873

Die Seminar-Arbeit sowie die Handouts (Kurz- und Seminar-Hauptreferat) müssen aufgrund der geltenden COVID-19 Bestimmungen nicht in ausgedruckter Form abgegeben werden. Die Abgabe kann per Mail erfolgen.

Kurzreferat (nur mündlich; Dauer: 15 Minuten), des Weiteren mündliche Präsentation eines Themas (= Seminar-Hauptreferat) (ca. 25/ 30 Minuten), Seminar-Arbeit (ca. 18-20 Seiten; letzter Abgabetermin: 30. September 2021), Textlektüre

Kontinuierliche Teilnahme an der prüfungsimmanenten Lehrveranstaltung (maximal zweimalige Absenz; gilt auch für den Fall, dass die LV online abgehalten werden muss), aktive Mitarbeit (Diskussionsbeiträge); Kurzreferat, Seminar-Hauptreferat, sowie Seminar-Arbeit

Assessment criteria / Standards of assessment for examinations

Positiv beurteiltes Kurz- und Hauptreferat sowie positiv beurteilte Seminararbeit - Für alle Aktivitäten, insbesondere für die schriftliche Seminar-Arbeit, gelten die Kriterien der Klarheit der inhaltlichen Argumentation, der korrekten Sprache (= Ausdruck, Rechtschreibung, Interpunktion) sowie das Einhalten der formalen Kriterien für das Verfassen einer wissenschaftlichen Arbeit (Deckblatt, Inhaltsverzeichnis, Anmerkungsapparat etc.).
