Intendierte Lernergebnisse
During the course, we will explore advanced concepts from field of Cloud computing, and its extension towards the edge of the networks to support the next generation Internet of Things (IoT) systems.
Lehrmethodik inkl. Einsatz von eLearning-Tools
The lecture will be interactive and student participation during the semester will be encouraged. The below-described topics will be divided onto 5 blocks, where each block will be 2-3 weeks long. After each block a short self-examination test will be given, to enable the students to asses their knowledge continuously.
Inhalt/e
During the semester we will focus on the following essential topics:
1. Virtualization technologies (including Linux Containers and Docker)
2. Cloud computing essentials (including IaaS, VMaaS, FaaS and SaaS)
3. Computing continuum (Edge, Fog and Osmotic Computing)
4. Internet of Things
5. Data analytics for IoT applications in the computing continuum
Erwartete Vorkenntnisse
Previous knowledge in distributed systems.
Prüfungsinformationen
Geänderte Prüfungsinformationen (COVID-19 Ausnahmeregelung)
The examination will be conducted in three stages, each covering a specific lecture block. The examinations will be oral/written and conducted thorugh a teleconference system.
Prüfungsmethode/n
The students will be assessed continuously based on their participation during the class.
After each block a self-examination test will be given.
The lecture will finish with a general exam covering the course topics.
Prüfungsinhalt/e
The materials covered during the course will be exclusively used for the exams.
