LV-Beschreibung
Intendierte Lernergebnisse
Become an expert in functional, purpose-oriented prototype design. Learn the basics of working with LEGO® Technics and LEGO® Mindstorms EV3 as a functional design tool and programming framework. Receive training by experts of the trade. Create a functional prototype under real-world conditions by developing and planning with a local company and experts.
Ultimately, students accompany the realization of a complex prototype from beginning to final execution and presentation. The prototype is an industry-relevant tool of actual economic importance to a project client, to be preserved as an interactive artefact of prototype education and possible founding stone for further research and project developments. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSzkiu9uhgU for an example.
This course is a cooperation of the University of Klagenfurt – Master’s Programme Game Studies and Engineering and the Educational Lab of Lakeside Science & Technology Park.

Prüfungsinformationen
Prüfungsmethode/n
The course features a twofold final assessment:
Central focus of assessment is the collective conception and actual creation of a functioning prototype that serves as an actual hands-on tool of interaction and education.
The construction of the prototype is followed by an individual post-mortem (summary description of a student’s individual working process).
Prüfungsinhalt/e
- Individual prototyping and presentation of a smaller artifact (40%)
- Collaborative prototype design and documentation (60%)
- Participation: a maximum of absences in total of six hours
Beurteilungskriterien/-maßstäbe
Practical outcome, written and oral contributions of students will be assessed
