Global Citizenship Education (ovvero l'Educazione per una Cittadinanza Globale) è uno dei concetti centrali delle Nazioni Unite e della sua organizzazione educativa, l'UNESCO, per rispondere attraverso l’educazione alle crisi preoccupanti del nostro tempo. Insieme all'educazione civica, all'educazione alla pace e all'educazione allo sviluppo sostenibile, la cittadinanza globale è considerata un approccio educativo integrativo non solo affronta le cosiddette questioni globali (cambiamenti climatici, fame, guerre), ma indirizza la sulla dimensione globale di tutti le questioni. Allo stesso tempo, Global Citizenship Education (GCED) è un termine ancora poco chiarito nella scienza dell'educazione e estremamente vasto, tanto da essere utilizzato per il greenwashing politico quanto per la richiesta di una trasformazione radicale dell'individuo e della società. La presentazione esplora il potenziale die GCED per una pedagogia della responsabilità planetaria nel rapporto tra uomo, natura e terra.

Global Citizenship Education (GCED) is one of the central concepts of the United Nations and its educational organisation UNESCO in order to respond to the pressing issues and worrying crises of our time through education. In conjunction with civic education, peace education and education for sustainable development, GCED is regarded as an integrative educational approach that not only addresses so-called global issues (climate change, hunger, wars), but also focuses on the global dimension of all issues. At the same time, GCED is still a poorly defined term in education science and is used for political greenwashing as well as for demands for a radical transformation of individuals and society. The presentation explores the potential of Global Citizenship Education for a pedagogy of planetary responsibility with regard to the relationship between humans, nature and the earth.
