Titel: Multiple literacies in communities and community-based learning – an international exchange
Beschreibung:

This workshop served to develop a qualitative-empirical study that will lead to a manuscript for an indexed journal in the field of research on adult education and learning (ALE). The working title of this study is Ideas of social justice in ALE: a comparative research in Scotland, South Tyrol (Italy), and Austria based on practitioners´ expertise.

In this comparative research project, the changes experienced by practitioners in community-based adult learning and education (ALE) in projects that are underpinned by ideas of social justice will be studied. We will be investigating changes in practice in Austria, South Tyrol, Italy, and Scotland over the last decade. We are particularly interested in how practitioners respond to changes in policy and/or funding that may require them to alter their previous approaches to the curriculum, teaching and learning approaches and assessment practices in ALE.  We want to understand how these changes are implemented or resisted in these three countries and how practitioners’ underlying values may influence these changes.
