Titel: ICE Summer School on Networked and Embedded Systems
Beschreibung: Gemeinsam mit vier europäischen Universitäten hat Klagenfurt das vom europäischen Erasmus-Mundus Exzellenzprogramm finanzierte Doktoratskolleg „Interactive und Cognitive Environments (ICE)“ initiiert. Von 3. bis 7. September findet die erste Summer School des ICE-Doktoratskollegs in Klagenfurt mit insgesamt 35 TeilnehmerInnen aus 17 Ländern statt. Diese Summer School widmet sich dem Schwerpunktsthema “Networked Embedded Systems” und wird von IEEE unterstützt. Es referieren unter anderem: ◦Prof. Ian Akyildiz (GaTech) zu Nanonetworks, ◦Prof. Kay Römer (Uni Lübeck) zu Sensornetzen, ◦Prof. Andrea Cavallaro (QM Univ. London) zu Cameranetzen, und ◦Prof. Carlo Regazzoni (Univ. Genova) zu Sensorfusion

Titel: ICE Summer School on Networked Embedded Systems
Beschreibung: Networked embedded systems sense their environment, process the captured data in the network and provide services for the user. They have already pervaded our everyday’s life and can be found in cars, mobile phones and “smart homes”. The IEEE/ICE Summer School on Networked Embedded Systems (ICESS2011) aims to provide both a clear overview and an in-depth presentation of state-of-the-art research in networked embedded systems. ICESS2011 is part of the Erasmus Mundus PhD Program on “Interactive and Cognitive Environments (ICE)” and is also open to interested students not enrolled in the ICE PhD program. The summer school is supported by IEEE via the Seasonal Schools in Signal Processing (S3P) initiative. The lectures will be delivered by world renowned experts in the field from both academia and industry, and will cover theoretical and practical aspects of these networks of the future. The summer school is co-located with the IEEE International Conference on Advanced Vision and Signal-based Surveillance (AVSS) which has a tradition of participation from the worlds of research, industry, and relevant government agencies. ICESS participants have the opportunity to attend the AVSS conference.
