Emergence of organizational structures - Individual learning and self-organized task allocation
Description:

With this project we aim to analyze whether and how different types of information provided to decision making agents in an organization affect task allocation decisions and, consequently, organizational structure. For this purpose we propose an (online) experiment. The experimental setting is based on the NK-framework that is used to capture complex organizational task environments. The results will provide valuable insights into organizational design in complex and dynamic environments. Also, we may give policy advice on what information should be provided decision makers in order to increase the efficiency of organizational structures.
